Terms of Use

The rules and guidelines for using MyPersonal Bible.

Effective Date: August 8, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to MyPersonal Bible. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MyPersonal Bible, available at mypersonal-bible-app.onrender.com and as an Android APK (together, "the Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

MyPersonal Bible is a free Bible reading, search, and audio application. It provides features such as daily verses, full-text scripture search, an Audio Bible, bookmarks, highlights, and cloud sync across devices when you sign in. The Service is provided at no cost, with no subscriptions, paywalls, or ads.

3. Eligibility

The Service is intended for a general audience. If you are under the age of 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), you may only use the Service with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian.

4. Accounts & Google Sign-In

You can use core reading features of the Service without an account. Signing in with Google is optional and enables features like syncing bookmarks, highlights, and reading progress across devices. You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Google credentials and for all activity that occurs through your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

5. Acceptable Use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems and networks.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or place undue burden on the Service (e.g., through scraping, bots, or denial-of-service attempts).
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where permitted by law.
  • Use the Service to transmit harmful code, spam, or content that infringes another person's rights.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these Terms.

6. Your Content

"Your Content" means the bookmarks, highlights, notes, and preferences you create while using the Service. You retain ownership of Your Content. By creating it within the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, sync, and display it back to you as part of providing the Service. We do not use Your Content for any purpose beyond operating and improving the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service — including its design, layout, graphics, logo, and underlying code — is owned by MyPersonal Bible and protected by applicable intellectual property laws, except where noted otherwise. Bible text made available through the Service is provided under the applicable license or public-domain status of each translation/version offered (for example, the King James Version is in the public domain in most jurisdictions). You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works from the Service's design or code without our prior written permission.

8. Donations & Support

MyPersonal Bible is free to use, and any financial support you choose to give is voluntary and is not a purchase of goods or services. Donations are processed by our third-party payment provider and are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or at our discretion.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers — including Google (for Sign-In), our hosting provider, and a payment processor for donations. Your use of those features is also subject to the respective third party's own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of third-party services.

10. Availability & Changes to the Service

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service — including individual features — at any time, with or without notice.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any content is accurate or complete.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MyPersonal Bible and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Because the Service is offered free of charge, our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us (if any) in the past twelve months, or a nominal amount.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we believe, in good faith, that you have violated these Terms or that doing so is necessary to protect the Service, its users, or third parties.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions, unless otherwise required by the mandatory law of your country of residence.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Service or for legal and regulatory reasons. We'll update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
